For most cosplay fans, we have to explain to others about what is Cosplay? “Cosplay, a contraction of the English words ‘costume’ and ‘play’, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands. However, in some circles, "cosplay" has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume.” –Wikipedia.org. That in itself explains what cosplay means, however cosplay has now become a world-wide hobby, and it is not restricted to merely a Japanese subculture.
I am relatively freshmen to the cosplay field, and i only just recently got into it through playing Final Fantasy. All the amazing costumes lead me to start searching around for professional cosplayers. Among them, Sarah Quillian, or adella cosplay leave a deep impression on me. Her first cosplay show is Final Fantasy 7 when she was 17, perhaps this is the reason why she impressed me most.
